Vmech Pruner
Red Rock Ranch operates a Vmech Tool Carrier (Vmech Pruner) which it utilizes to prune its own vineyards and on a custom basis. Utilizing a three man team, the PTO driven Vmech Pruner can prune two rows of grapes at a time at speeds of between a 1 to 1.5 MPH. Red Rock Ranch has been successful adapting the pruner to various wine grape trellis systems including bi-lateral and quad-lateral cordons with and without catch wires. The Vmech Pruner allows for each operator to independently adjust the pruning head’s height and placement minimizing missed canes and post pruning clean-up.
